Membership...what part does it play in the AssN. activities?
•Purchase & maintain groomer, associated equipment and fuel
•Provide ongoing training for groomer operators as well as for new recruits
•New trail development and maintenance on existing trails
•Host an annual Landowner’s Appreciation Banquet
•Advocate for the sport of snowmobiling in Albany as well as with local landowners
•Work closely with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department to ensure that all snowmobiles that ride our trail system are insured and registered
•Operate the Association as a not-for-profit business to fund grooming activities (few, if any, clubs have paid staff)
•Our groomer operators are out whenever conditions allow and volunteers are available.
1- Save money on your New York State Snowmobile Registration Costs
nys registration costs:
US $45 if a snowmobile club or association member
US $100 if NOT a snowmobile club or association member
2- SNOW, AND LOTS OF IT!! We have groomed trails when the rest of the state has marginal accumulation or no snow at all. According to Wikipedia’s Tug Hill Weather Description: “The Tug Hill region is renowned for its excessive snowfall.”
3- We use 2 late-model industry standard Pisten Bully groomers equipped with state-of-the-art Mogul Master drags. Our Association volunteers regularly attend manufacturer-sponsored briefings to keep up-to-date on the latest maintenance for the machines which means less down-time for the equipment.
4- Year-round trail building, bridge-building and general trail maintenance by dedicated volunteers whose mission it is to have one of the best marked and well-maintained trail system on the Tug Hill.
5- Close cooperation with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department to promote Safe and Responsible riding.
